Meet the Counselor

Maria E. Camejo, MS, LMHC

Thank you for your interest in my work.

I am a Catholic Counselor in private practice. I am licensed in the State of Florida as a National Board Certified Counselor (License #MH7508). I counsel individuals, couples and families locally and abroad, using a faith-based psychological approach. Television talk shows, radio talk shows and church ministries request my services. As a Catholic Counselor I am privileged to serve Catholics and non-Catholics worldwide.

It is with great conviction and enthusiasm that I have decided to provide online counseling. In a world where communication and psychology sometimes seem to be at odds with the Christian message, you and I, working together, can make a difference.

When I decided to open this practice, the client I had in mind is the person who wants a faith-based psychological approach and cannot find a Catholic Counselor. I am concerned with the lack of focus on the whole person by the psychological community. I integrate the body, mind & soul.

It is hard to imagine, that the only person with any therapy or counseling training in your town, village or county, could be someone with whom you'd not ordinarily share your intimate thoughts with. This could be because of pre-existing relationships (such as a family member, co-worker or friend) or because you don't have a high level of trust with them. There are also many English and Spanish speaking people living in places where counseling is still and under-developed profession.

I believe that a Catholic Counselor must understand and be able to use the latest psychological techniques, always keeping abreast with the most recent research and uniting it with authentic Catholic teaching.
